Product Designer / Front-End Developer

Our client is one of the world leaders in software for creative professionals.

Based in central Auckland, they are looking for a highly organised, and creative Senior Product Designer, with Front-End Developer skills, and extensive iOS experience to join the team.

Working closely with the product owners and senior designers, your role is to help the team design the right thing and then test and iterate it extensively with user feedback. You should have a working knowledge of React, Javascript, Swift and Svelte to help bring designs to life and prototype experiences to test with users and help with development handover.

As the Senior Product Designer, you will be expected to drive and oversee activities such as:

• User research, design research (prototype testing) and usability testing
• Translating concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes

As a Senior member of the team, you will be comfortable mentoring and coaching less experienced members.

You will employ a strong understanding of best practices, self-directed research and keeping up on industry trends, and most importantly, be an advocate for UX.

Essential skills for this role:

• Someone who has worked within a cross-discipline design and development team
• Proficiency in Figma for design and React, Javascript, Swift and Svelte for developing
• Experience in conducting primary research i.e., empathy interviews
• Strong written and presentation skills
• Experience in planning and managing your own projects
• Experience with designing for web and mobile
• Strong interaction design skills such as wireframing, user flows, customer journey mapping
• Experience in designing complex apps would be advantageous

They offer a hybrid work from home / office culture and require candidates who are based in Auckland to go into the Auckland office at least once a week and when required.
